Tagging along on a journey with the main character on a quest to escape the near-death experiences, whilst trying to solve the mystery and outrun the villains has a long history in film. Guessing ‘what will they do next?’ and ‘what would I do?’ is what makes the audience feel like they are participating in a thrilling life and death game… without any actual risks.

Till Death tells a story of a married woman that finds herself handcuffed to her dead husband’s body following their anniversary retreat to the remote lake house. As Emma is trying to piece together last night’s events, she gradually realises that her partner’s suicide is just the beginning of the orchestrated series of punishments that he has planned for her. The extreme revenge strategy unfolds minute by minute as Emma anxiously tries to escape the deadly house in the middle of Winter, tormented by past traumas and relentless hitmen chasing her down… while she is still physically attached to her partner. What a brilliant, yet torturing metaphor to emphasise that one of the most significant parts of ending a relationship and truely moving on is to stop holding on to the past and let go of that unhealthy weight. In Till Death’s case, quite literally.
